Wolves hunt their prey in the Rocky Mountains of North America, the Arctic tundra, the mountains and forests of Europe and the deserts and steppes of Central Asia. They feed on meat and nutrient-rich offal, but also on vegetables, fruits, berries, roots and herbs through the stomach contents of the prey. Cereals are not included here. This is how the wolf gets its required vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes and secondary plant substances. As the wolf is the ancestor of all dogs, our Wolfsblut dry dog food is based on the natural eating habits of the wolf. It contains lots of meat or fish combined with superfoods that contain valuable ingredients - and just like in nature, completely grain-free. Our selection of exceptional meats and nutrient-rich superfoods is based on the wolf's habitat and its colourful food diversity. Wolfsblut offers every dog a species-appropriate and original diet and with its variety of types, there is something for everyone that they can tolerate. The recipe of WILD DUCK PUPPY dry food combines the diet of the wolf with the latest scientific findings on proper dog nutrition.

The individual ingredients of WILD DUCK PUPPY have been put together in collaboration with veterinarians, in line with the wolf's natural diet and the findings on holistic dog nutrition. The dry food from Wolfsblut is therefore unique.

•   Potatoes: They provide complex carbohydrates and fibre, are low in fat and contain 15 different vitamins, minerals and trace elements such as magnesium, iron, zinc and phosphorus, as well as a high proportion of potassium, vitamins B and C.

•   Pumpkin: It is one of the lowest calorie vegetables and rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, minerals and phytosterols. The fibre it contains makes it very digestible and aids digestion.

•   Peas: The little protein peas contain unsaturated fatty acids as well as plenty of dietary fibre, which is good for digestion and can regulate blood sugar levels. According to the American health authority CSPI, they are one of the most nutritious vegetables due to their valuable dietary fibre as well as their high beta-carotene and vitamin E content.

•   Jerusalem artichoke: It contains a high proportion of inulin, which has a prebiotic effect and stimulates the growth of healthy strains of bacteria in the intestine. A healthy intestinal flora has a positive effect on the immune system.

•   Blackberries: These berries contain particularly high levels of magnesium and iron. With their provitamin A and vitamin E content, blackberries also beat their native relatives.

•   Elderberries: The black-blue berries contain anthocyanins as well as a lot of vitamin C and folic acid. The pigment sambucyanin contained is also said to have an anti-inflammatory effect.

•   Aronia berries: Aronia contains large amounts of plant substances that are said to have special health benefits, such as flavonoids and phenolic acid.

•   Linseed: The fibre and mucilage in the small grains have a positive effect on digestion and have a high content of polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids.

•   Dandelion: It is rich in minerals such as magnesium, folic acid, manganese and vitamin K. This vitamin plays an important role in blood clotting.

•   Fennel: It is rich in essential oils that are beneficial for digestion and intestines. It also contains vital substances such as potassium, vitamin A, folic acid, vitamin C and silicic acid.
